Obsession: Marie Antoinette
There is something we should get out of the way early on. In 2004, I became completely obsessed, for reasons unknown, with all things French. I adore almost everything about France, and I know this blog will reflect that. I went to France in March of this year, and it did not disappoint! It was pure magic my friends, pure magic. I travelled to Versailles for the day, and added Queen Marie Antoinette to my francophile obsessions. Marie Antoinette style is vintage romance at its most luxurious and, I can't get enough of it! I snapped this photo in Queen Marie Antoinette's bedchamber. Two queens died and nineteen princes were born in this room. This was an amazing place to behold! The bed, chairs, and wall coverings were changed with every season. The room looks exactly the way Marie Antoinette left it, in her summer pattern.
Yes, this is a photo of the floor in Marie Antoinette's bedchamber. Funny but, this photo is one of my favorites. Marie's bedchamber is in the rear of the grand palace facing beautiful gardens and fountains. I stood in this spot and, stared out the window as I imagine she did many times. What was she thinking? What was she WEARING?

Sofia Coppola directed the 2006 film Marie Antoinette. I own this movie and, I adore it! If you love Marie Antoinette, this is a must-see for you! Young Marie Antoinette was all about pleasure, and this movie portrays that beautifully. Marie Antoinette loved towering hairstyles, magnificent huge dresses, and jewels fit for a queen. She spent a fortune on her appearance, influencing fashion throughout Europe.

The movie is FULL of eye-candy scenes like this one!

Kirsten Dunst is so beautiful in this film and, the soundtrack rocks!

Marie Antoinette is still the muse of fashion designers and fashionistas everywhere. These are a few of my favorite Marie Antoinette-inspired images. Enjoy!

Pinterest-ing Wednesday: Dream Hair
I am so happy to participate in my very first link-up with The Vintage Apple! Hop over and visit Michelle to share your favorite images for "Oh, How Pinterest-ing! Wednesday". I discovered Pinterest a couple of weeks ago, and instantly became addicted. Pinterest is a place to collect inspiring images by "pinning" them to your virtual pinboards. If you love making collages, memory boards, or vision boards...you are going to LOVE Pinterest. I pin all kinds of things, mostly photos for future blog posts, decor I love, food porn, and images that make me happy! Today I am sharing images from one of my boards called "Dream Hair". Enjoy!

Style Inspiration: Nod to Nautical
(via)
I love when nautical-inspired fashion trends appear for summer. I swoon for anything "beachy" or nautical. I often dream of going to Nantucket, Cape Cod, and Martha's Vineyard. I imagine that everything is windswept, charming, sun-bleached, and all of the girls are wearing nautical outfits. *wink*

Oddly enough, nautical trends are always something I admire from afar. What am I waiting for? This year I am definitely going to incorporate a few pieces into my summer wardrobe!
I put together this collage of a few of my summer, nautical "wants". My starting point for this look is the adorable and comfortable dress. How cute is that? It is from Accessorize, which I discovered in a Paris department store. I also included a great open stitch vest from Hive and Honey. Very "beachy". I am already thinking of a million ways I can wear this vest! You can shop my entire look at the end of this post!
Look at the face on this little guy! I love adding a little whimsy to a casual outfit. I definitely need this ring!

I have to be honest, this Chanel Mimosa nail polish was the inspiration for everything! I looked at this polish from the Chanel Summer 2011 collection and, decided I needed to wear it with something nautical and navy! Do you ever plan an outfit around the smallest detail?

I hope that you are inspired to add something nautical to your summer collection. If you do, I would love to see it! And, if you make these cupcakes, I hope that you'll invite me over! See you at the seaside!

Beginning with Gratitude!
(via)
For my mother and grandmother, you showed me how to love my family with all of my heart. Thank you for so many memories, recipes, traditions, and a whole lot of love!(via)
My Brian, you care deeply about my dreams and goals. I love you so much for that! You encourage me daily to be the person I was meant to be. I owe my "happily ever now" to you! "Ain't nothin' to it, but to do it!"

Sweet Jenny, I love sharing beauty product reviews, reality t.v. discussions, fashion must-haves, and celebrity gossip with you. When I imagine the audience I will be writing to, it will no doubt be you.(via)
Dearest Veronika of Veronika's Kandy Koated Dreams, two girls sat at a Christmas party and shared their dreams of having a blog. One girl set her dream into motion, and the other girl kept dreaming. The day I found your blog, I remembered that in some instances there are only two kinds of people. I was forced to look at myself and choose my path. Thank you for that! You inspire and motivate me daily!

Heather of dooce, Amanda of Kevin and Amanda, and Erin of Blue-Eyed Bride, your blogs have influenced and inspired me. Though different styles, you all showed me the endless possibilites of sharing and self-expression through blogging. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

And, thank YOU for checking out my very first blog post! You are part of a dream come true for me! I am still learning so, thanks for your patience. I hope you will visit again very soon!
